Recently, Atlas Copco Group announced the acquisition of Spanish compressor manufacturer Arizaga Bastarrica y Compañia S.A. (hereinafter referred to as “ABC Compressors”). This move marks an important step forward in the Group’s global strategic layout, with the Chinese market playing a particularly crucial role.

ABC Compressors was founded in 1943 and is headquartered in Eibar, Spain. It is a company specializing in the production of reciprocating compressors, with its products widely applied in the fields of gas and air compression.

The company has a wholly-owned subsidiary in Suzhou, China, named Abix Compressors (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Since its establishment in 2009, it has been dedicated to the research, development, production, and sales of reciprocating piston compressors and their components, as well as providing after-sales service and import/export operations.

As one of the world’s largest manufacturing markets, China’s demand for efficient and energy-saving compressor products continues to grow. Through this acquisition, the Atlas Copco Group will further enhance its competitiveness in the Chinese market and better meet the needs of local customers.

Following the acquisition, ABC Compressors will be integrated into the Air and Gas Applications Division of Atlas Copco Group’s Compressor Technique business area. This integration will facilitate deeper collaboration between the two parties in terms of technology, resources, and management expertise, enabling the provision of more comprehensive and efficient solutions to global customers.

Additionally, ABC Compressors’ localized production and operational experience in China will provide strong support for Atlas Copco Group’s further development in the Chinese market.
